The Glover Report: Mr. Mitt Romney, You're Insincere!
By Doni Glover, www.bmorenews.com
(WASHINGTON – October 25, 2012) – Okay. So, I’m going through some emails and I come across some Rom Rom supporters who really hate the President, apparently. They say it is not race. Man! These guys are tenacious. And the language is very harsh. And I find it bothersome. And no, I have never seen this kind of talk before about a President.
I am trying really hard to understand their disdain for Pres. Barack Obama. They have said that Pres. Obama is not the right guy to lead America for the next four years.
Now, being a thinking man, I will consider all thoughts. Most of them – anyway. And, I have addressed issues with the Obama camp that I disagree with. However, one thing I do not see is Republicans having a similarly open discussion about Romney and the Party; I don’t see them taking responsibility for any of this mess. And nothing could be farther from the truth. I’m not hearing any criticism of Romney at all, nor the domino effect of the Bush years. I mean, honestly – the guy wasn’t even allowed to come to the RNC Convention.
Say what you want, but Bush’s absence at the RNC spoke volumes. Repubs clearly wanted to distance themselves from Bush. Now, after the third debate, I’d be wanting to distance myself from Romney if I were them.
As a matter of fact, all through this campaign, I have heard a lot of Republican talk regarding what Obama has done wrong. I like honesty and am open to hear everybody. However, when everything wrong is one person’s fault in a relationship, that’s a reason for suspicion. When a reckless person takes no responsibility for their actions and gallivants around with a cavalier attitude of selfishness and entitlement all the while stepping on a lot of people in the process, it is a sickening reminder of how advanced mankind really is. Way to go, pal!
Let’s go back to the year 2000. Unless I am wrong, George Bush and the Republican Party did the unthinkable: They stole an election. And the whole damn world knows it. Florida, the state where Trayvon was killed, was the setting.
Let’s stop right there. When you steal, you are viewed as a criminal. You therefore have to pay a price for such a crime. Shouldn’t you?
Then, after stealing the White House, 9-11 goes down. Buildings implode, including #7. Bush starts a war with Iraq in search of weapons of mass destruction – that were never found – because of bad information. This move alone is egregious, criminal even. Bin Laden was all-evasive. And, while Bush enters office with the country on steady financial ground - from there on out, it was no-bid contract after no-bid contract for Halliburton until the gains turned into losses.
Everybody got something out of the war in Iraq, for instance, except Americans. Americans got gas at $5 a gallon. Americans got killed and blown up and came back missing limbs – like innocent civilians in Iraq - because of one man’s ego and intention to reckon payback on a ‘lowly infidel’ nation because his daddy got a black eye.
I don’t pretend to be an economist nor a foreign policy expert. And I am not a Constitutional lawyer. However, I do have some common sense. And common sense suggests to, and this is my gut, that this country is in for a world of trouble if Romney is elected. I have a basic problem with him: he has an answer for everything. Is there anything you don’t know, big guy?
Here’s another one I’ve been trying to figure out: Why, at a time when diversity is the order of the day – why in the world would the Republicans choose two white males? Helloooo! It’s 2012. You couldn’t find a Latino? A woman?
My thoughts: Not a good look! To me, the ticket purely symbolizes while male power; even more, white male power that ought to be back in the White House – implying the black man is out of bounds. I could be reading too much into it, especially considering the Republicans could only come up with Sarah Palin the last time.
In the President, I see someone who also sees the magnitude of the problem; however, he seems more human in his approach. He has proven that he can give the kill order. The rest of the world knows that he will bust a cap when necessary. And, he has cleaned up mess left by Bush.
So, here’s a basic question I have for Romney: Why didn’t you create jobs here for Americans when you were in business? Now it seems like – once again – you’re coming back to clean up a mess that you – Mr. R – created. You, Mr. Romney, are part of the reason so many jobs went overseas. And if you are not responsible, Mr. Romney, you sure seem complicit! Now, you’re going to create millions of jobs at home and, by the way – you said the government doesn’t create jobs. This is where I get really confused and I wonder if there are two people inside of you who take turns speaking.
Bottomline. I cannot imagine him leading the free world. What a frightening thought. Romney seems untrustworthy.

My question: What did you get for your support? Another question: Given the high level of advocacy of a then-Lt. Gov. Michael S. Steele – a black Republican, has Brown spoken up for African Americans in a similar fashion since he’s been Lieutenant Governor? Read in Full >>

The Glover Report: It's Election Time!:
Whether it's Detroit, Chicago, Atlanta - wherever, black people have to come to better understand a Delegate from a state Senator and a state Senator from a US Senator. We have to understand what the local Council does, what the state assembly does, and what is done in Congress. We also have to understand the legislation they write and who it impacts. Classic example: prisons. Somebody is voting for more and more prisons. My issue is that too many people who look just like me keep filling these cells. Currently, America has the Gold! It incarcerates 25% of the world's inmates, 40% who are black and male ... like me.
