The Glover Report: ELECT OR RE-ELECT '12: The RNC Convention: Now That It's Over ....
By Doni M. Glover, www.bmorenews.com
(WASHINGTON - August 31, 2012) - I have just one simple question for the Republicans, considering that this is the party of big business. Clearly, they are experts at business … one would think. Is it an excuse when Pres. Barack Obama mentions the 8 years – 8 years – 8 years of Pres. George Bush’s failed economic policy, or is it simply the sake of understanding how America went from having a surplus under Pres. Bill Clinton to having a huge deficit under 8 years of Bush? If you have been a ‘crackhead’ for 8 years, can you really turn it around in four? Can you really and truly correct 8 horrible years merely in four?
Seriously, doesn’t Pres. Obama deserve some credit? Honestly, guys – the Republican rhetoric is more than just tired. It’s dead and stinking. Not working at all.
By the way, I like how Republicans quickly denounced the actions by a white Republican National Committee convention attendee who hurled nuts at a black CNN reporter. Lord knows, you guys are the last ones to be able to afford a racist faux pas. Honestly, I’m glad the lady didn’t bust a cap. Such foolishness is deader than the current Republican rhetoric being spewed by the party of smaller government.
Nope. The Republicans are really spiraling downwards. I’m not at all convinced that the RNC has made an effective enough case against the President. I think people – even some Republicans – will go for “4 more years.”
I mean, honestly guys – Pres. Obama has put us back on the map internationally. I think our level of integrity worldwide has improved remarkably since Obama took office. People can once again tolerate “the ugly American.” Under Bush, I didn’t want to leave the country for fear of being hated abroad.
While I did not agree with killing Moummar Khadafi, an African head of state – I agree with much of our foreign policy. Clearly, the night Osama bin Laden’s death was reported will never be forgotten. A sense of relief had come, finally.
Nonetheless, the jabs have been going back and forth – given that the RNC raided Florida. Despite inclement weather, the Republicans pushed ahead. I’m just glad I don’t have to watch their chicanery on national television any longer. I don’t know how much more of the Romney/Ryan dogma I could have taken.

But most of all, to the Bowie State University class of 2013, congratulations. (Applause.) Oh, congratulations. You don't know how proud we all are of you. Just look at you. The Republicans know that regardless of how many lies, falsehoods or exaggerations they put out, they will be successful in roping people in to their cause. I agree fully with you're article and the sad part about is that some people just don't get it. This convention was nothing but a big assembly of circus clowns.
