This past week New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie continued to address education reform, charter schools, voucher programs, taxes, and bail reform in his second State of the State Address. The Governor campaigned on the slogan "Bringing our Cities Back" when opening a campaign headquarters in Newark during his gubernatorial run. It all actually started when I was in the 5th grade at Matthew A. Henson Elementary School #29 on Payson and Baker streets in West Baltimore. There, Mr. Kermit Williams was my teacher. There, he introduced me to doing the morning announcements. I had totally forgot about this until one day, my former classmate William White and Coppin schoolmate mimicked my lunch menu spiel that ended with “… and a half-pint of milk. Mmm mmm! Sure sounds delicious!”
