MOREHOUSE TIGERS BEAT BENEDICT; EXTEND WIN STREAK:
The Maroon Tigers started the 2009 season with a bang, bashing the Benedict College Tigers, 34-13.
The victory extends the Morehouse win streak to four games, dating back to October 18 and avenges a 7-3 loss to Benedict, on opening day last year. Morehouse has now won 5-of-6 against the Tigers from Columbia, SC.

Former Mayor of Berkeley, California to be featured on WOLB with Doni Glover:
Gus Newport, an expert in community development and former Mayor of Berkeley, California, is among the featured guest on today's edition of "Empower Hour" news talk radio show with Doni Glover on WOLB 1010 AM.

According to the Progress in International Reading Literacy Study ( PIRLS ) in 2001, fourth grade girls in all of thirty plus participating countries scored higher in reading literacy than fourth grade boys by a significant amount, statistically.
