Living Your Life in Your Hands
I was sitting today thinking about everything that needs to be done for the next issue of STR~8 Magazine, and I realized I have become one of those people. You know… those who live by their Blackberry, iPhone, HTC, Flip or Sidekick. I have allowed my life to be run by the up-to-date pocket organizer. The flash of a red light, the melodic sounds of an alert…. that is how I'm living. Dropping everything for whatever text message, email, Facebook alert, tweet or blackberry message that comes across. What have we come to?
I have made a conscious decision that once this next edition has been updated, I'm putting the devices down for one day. Telling that special person I LOVE YOU, kissing the kids, hugging my parents and enjoying my friends!

Recently, I've had several conversations with clients on the benefits of moving their web sites to a web content management system or CMS. I currently use Wordpress for my web site, but I have also used Joomla, Drupal, Expression Engine, and Simple Updates. For a list and description of some popular CMS software go to CMS Critic, this by no means lists every system, but it does a good overview of many systems. I am a big fan of open-source CMS, but as long as you use one, it will be a good step in the right direction. Read in Full >>
