VMG International: VMG's LaRian Finney in Nigeria:
Happy Mother's Day ... from the Motherland
As I enter my third day on my journey in Nigeria, I rose early this morning (4:30a) and began to reflect on the significance of Mother’s Day and my trip back to the Motherland. For me the symbol and meaning of MOTHER is to inspire, motivate, encourage, teach, challenge, and love unconditionally. I have felt of all these emotions during my first two days in Nigeria–The Motherland has become my Mother for this brief time in my life.
I have been inspired by the resilience of the children and adults who live each day to the fullest and cherish those things that are not material but have true meaning and purpose.

Robert Wallace, President and CEO of Bith Energy, recently stated at the Green Economy Business Opportunity Conference, “It is the role of true entrepreneurs to plow unchartered waters, take the first bumps and licks, and lead the path for innovative ideas and concepts”.
My trip to Nigeria, and more importantly, the business opportunity before Visionary Marketing Group and me begins a new chapter in the evolution of the company I founded ten years ago. Over the past two years we have taken our bumps and lumps as we attempted to stick to our original purpose as a company—to produce quality and innovative campaigns and events for the African American community and community at large.

The Glover Report: The Bible According to John. Daymond John: “For Us. By Us.”:
Hence, I have elected to use the power of the media to help empower those who can make a positive difference in the realm of business and in the realm of politics. In grad school, they call it political economy – the inter-relationship of politics and economics. That’s using one’s political might to wield power economically so as to create a brighter future.
DAYMOND JOHN, FUBU
Now, the other part of this truly magnificent week for me was hanging with Spectrum Enterprises LLC’s Alethea King and Bert Daniel at the Baltimore Times 25th Anniversary Power Luncheon featuring FUBU (For us, by us) founder Daymond John at the Tremont Plaza in downtown Baltimore yesterday. Joy Bramble, the co-founder of the Baltimore Times, was all smiles as LaRian Finney’s Visionary Marketing Group (VMG) put together an amazing assembly of persons all present to pay homage to a most important aspect of the black media and the community.
