Commentary: YOU BIG DUMMIES! IT’S MURDER, PURE AND SIMPLE; SANFORD IS INSANE:
I feel like I'm watching an episode of the 1970s sitcom "Sanford & Son" rather than the City of Sanford's investigation of a heartless, cold and calculating killer. And for the name's sake, it is clearly evident, at least to me, that the 1857 Dred Scott v. Sanford decision is still good law in the State of Florida. See, 60 U.S. 393 (1857) I must confess, I am deeply affected by Trayvon Martin’s slaying. It has been weighing heavy on me ever since I first learned of the news. Read in Full >>

REMARKS BY THE PRESIDENT AT SIGNING OF THE SMALL BUSINESS JOBS ACT:
So this law will do two big things: It’s going to cut taxes, and it’s going to make more loans available for small business. It’s a great victory for America’s entrepreneurs. (Applause.) It is a great victory for America’s entrepreneurs.
Now, I have to admit, I regret that this bill –- which was based on ideas from both Democrats and Republicans, and drawing support from business groups that don't normally support me -- (laughter) -- I regret that this was blocked for months by the Republican minority in the Senate, and that needlessly delayed this relief. But I do want to thank the two Republican senators who bucked this partisanship to help pass this bill, and, obviously, I want to thank all the Democrats who worked so hard to get it passed.

By Professor Sherrilyn Ifill
(BALTIMORE - March 31, 2010) - Two dynamic law professors will engage in a dialogue about race and criminal justice at the Enoch Pratt Free Library. Prof. Paul Butler currently teaches at Georgetown Law School. He's well-known in the academy for his provocative scholarship, beginning with his controversial article in the Yale Law Review promoting jury nullification. A former U.S. attorney, Butler's scholarship has repeatedly engaged in unflinching analysis of the realities of our criminal justice system, and the effect of current criminal justice policy on our society. His new book, Let's Get Free: A Hip-Hop Theory of Justice has been called "part memoir, part manifesto" in its call to create a saner, less destructive approach to crime and punishment -- especially for non-violent drug crimes.
