Op/Ed: Injustice No. 2: WBE's Get Fleeced In State Bid:
Over at the Maryland Transportation Authority (MdTA), another super duper injustice has occurred. Sisters and brothers, I mean, this is bigger than the Maryland Aviation Administration/Shuttle Bus debacle because three out of four contractors who submitted hard bids on an $89 million road construction contract met the stated minority and women business enterprise goals and the winner did not in a recent bidding process. The issue is that the recommended prime contractor with the lowest bid did not meet the stated minority and women business enterprise goals and requested a waiver. Read in Full >>

Maryland Lt. Governor Anthony G. Brown was named yesterday to the Democratic National Committee’s Platform Drafting Committee. The Drafting Committee, which will be led by Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano, is charged with drafting the Democratic Party’s platform in advance of the Party’s national convention in Denver.
