The Glover Report (TGR): BMORENEWS.com’s Man of the Year:
Daren Muhammad is BMORENEWS.com’s 2010 Man of the Year. He is being recognized for often being the first one in the black community in Baltimore to bring attention to critical issues – from public education to black business inclusion on mega-projects to the findings in the trial of the alleged youth murderers of former Baltimore City Councilman and fellow Dunbar Poet Kenneth Harris.
Daren is in love with his community, and although his ways are different from mine, there is no doubt in my mind of his commitment to the struggle of helping empower black people. Sometimes aggressive on the mic, I am reminded that for every Martin, we need a Malcolm.
