The Baltimore County Minority and Women Business Enterprise Commission and The Baltimore County Commission for Women presented "Networking for Success", the annual Minority and Women Owned Businesses 2008 Awards Breakfast in Timonium
(TIMONIUM - April 23, 2008) - With 29 years in banking, Linda Osborne knows the significance of getting out there and mixing with the people - particularly the small business owner. For her - and her employer, the State Employees Credit Union (SECU), this means anybody pulling down $5 million a year or less.
She told BMORENEWS.com, "Not everybody has the time for the small business owner. As a Business Relationship Banker for SECU, we are specifically catering to the small business owners."
Formerly of Citibank, Osborne represents 16 branches of the credit union, including those in Owings Mills, Columbia, Greenbelt, Rockvville, and Silver Spring.
In any event, she and dozens of others - including Baltimore County Councilman Ken Oliver and Speaker Pro Tem Adrienne Jones - attended the Baltimore County Minority and Women Business Enterprise (M/WBE) Commission and Baltimore County Commission for Women's "Networking for Success" Awards Breakfast this morning at the Crowne Plaza in Timonium. The event celebrated minority and women owned businesses for 2008.
Today's honorees includedJean Baum, President of Shannon-Baum Signs, Inc. (WBE of the Year); Stacy Fisher, Principal of Site Resources (Pioneer Awards); and Nanda K. Sen, President of EBA Engineering, Inc. (MBE of the Year).
A great opportunity to mix with movers and shakers in business, the event attracted both established and new businesses, as well as a host of persons who work for various government agencies.
