Business networking at its finest!
(BALTIMORE – May 15, 2012) – The BMORENEWS Global Forum on Women’s Empowerment to feature 1209 Enterprise, LLC, sponsored by the Foundation for the Support of the United Nations, is shaping-up to be a stellar business networking opportunity for attendees.
Slated for the United Nations in New York City, this marquee event for BMORENEWS symbolizes a decade of business networking events – as well as a decade of publishing news and interviews focusing on the black experience in America.
Hence, the Friday, June 15th event in NYC is intended to take everyone’s network to the next level. Calling all authors, entrepreneurs, inventors, business professionals: You don’t want to miss this one!
In addition to Dr. Patricia Newton, M.D. – a woman who flies like most people drive, and world-acclaimed book and film critic Kam Williams, our partners at 1209 Enterprise, LLC, an award winning company, will also be participating in the day’s events.
1209 Enterprise, LLC is a business networking organization that assists business owners, entrepreneurs and industry professionals in the growth of their business. Based on the ideology of its co-founders, Frank Waters and Henry Nelson, small and start-up businesses should have access to high-level professional services that they can afford. Thus, 1209 Enterprise made this idea a reality. 1209 Enterprise offers services in finance, marketing, printing, web design, business education and networking at amazing rates.
In line with their vision, this dynamic duo planned networking events for serious minded business people with high profile guest speakers, and charged a menial admission of $12.09. It is that ideology and vision that motivated Waters and Nelson to continue to build. Three years later, the 1209 Affair collaborated with George C. Fraser of FraserNet, the largest black networking company, and presented New York’s SuccessNet Quarterly. SuccessNet Quarterly organizes networking event that brings out the best and brightest speakers in America to empower, uplift and motivate entrepreneurs.
Of the 1209 Enterprise, LLC entities, the 1209 Affair and the1209affair.com website are the most noticeable of the company. The powerful and effective networking affairs have been the catapult of the company’s success and the website, which has an active online community of over 2,000 members, has played a strategic role in the success by allowing members the opportunity to share necessary resources amongst the network.
Along with SuccessNet Quarterly, the 1209 Affair hosts hugely successful corporate networking affairs. These affairs are either free or priced moderately. 1209 Affair features high profile guest speakers from various aspects of business. The networking affairs allow 1209 Enterprise members to create successful business relations. The goal for these events is to educate and enlighten 1209 Enterprise members while allowing them to create long lasting and successful business relations through networking.
1209 Enterprise has taken business networking into the new age with their website, the1209affair.com, which includes a social networking component. 1209 members are able to interact with one another and foster business relationships that afford them greater access to resources and access to a larger market. The1209affair.com offers savings on services offered by 1209 Enterprise through their subsidiary 1209 Arts. These services, offered only to its members, range from the very basic business needs such as printing and design to financial services. 1209 Arts is also an award winning entity and serves as an MWBE with various certifications such as New York City, New York State, DASNY and MTA. The 1209 Enterprise offers business services that saved its members over $150,000 in a span of 2 years. The company is able to offer these services at significantly reduced prices because it relies heavily on its network of hundreds of businesses, professionals and community leaders whom already serve as members of 1209 Enterprise. The newest sections of the1209affair.com are the 1209 Executive Suite (E.S.), which is dedicated to the executive lifestyle in you. The website contains executive toys like, the finest cars, yachts, jets, homes, vacations and executive offices. 1209 E.S. is a tool created to keep you motivated, focused and thinking like a millionaire.
1209 Enterprise radio show, “Gloria Waldron Speaks with 1209” is a collaboration of Gloria Waldron, the community-conscious entrepreneur and Henry Nelson, the business-conscious 1209 co-owner. The show broadcast live on Wednesday from 8pm to 9pm on 90.3 FM and on the 1209affair.com website. Like the 1209 Enterprise philosophy, the hosts interviews entrepreneurs to enlighten listeners on different businesses and services and 3 minutes of wisdom from Stacie N.C. Grant, motivator and The PR Expert, Karen Taylor-Bass.
Frank Waters, President of 1209 Enterprise, formerly developed state of the art websites for The Bronx Times, K9 Entertainment, DJ LA Luv and the Harlem News Group. He maintained and laid out format and advertisements for the New York Post and The Bronx Times Reporter.
Mr. Waters also has an extensive background in event planning, developing music artist showcases, fashion shows and corporate launch affairs.
Henry Nelson, Vice-President of 1209 Enterprise, formerly found and owned Even Exchange Barter, the first black-owned barter company in this region. Henry Nelson concept was "save cash, use barter". His large customer base company was equipped to handle almost every service for barter. If the company did not have a service to barter, Henry Nelson was also a broker who can get the best below market prices; “he’s not your average broker”. Henry successfully held monthly seminar/networking events in Brooklyn, “Brooklyn, Stay in Business”. Each month Henry highlighted a professional entrepreneur who gave advice and information to small to medium business owners.
Mr. Nelson is a motivational speaker for troubled teenagers. He has spoken at high schools, churches and Job Corps. He also speaks at New York prisons in a prison ministry.
