He’s considered a political powerhouse in his home state of Maryland, a media voice for the people, and an incredibly talented visionary who has given the world his reflection of it in the form of www.bmorenews.com. He’s always pushing the envelope for black businesses, public school funding, and ex-offender services. Each Tuesday morning, Doni Glover climbs to his pulpit to speak truth to power on WOLB 1010 AM in Baltimore. The show streams ‘LIVE!’ from 10 to 11 am EST at www.wolbbaltimore.com. Bmorenews.com turns 10 years old this year. The radio show is 13 years old. He’s also provided NBC’s Baltimore affiliate (WBAL TV 11) with more than a decade of political analysis from an urban perspective on hot button political issues. And he has successfully advised a number of politicians in their quest for public office.
He has spoken before audiences at Goucher College, Morehouse College, Johns Hopkins University, Sojourner-Douglass College, Morgan State University, Coppin State University, the University of Virginia, Georgetown University and a litany of public school classrooms. He’s been to Africa, the Middle East, the Caribbean, Canada, and a fair portion of the United States. He’s covered the White House over 15 times and was even invited to the Black Publishers and Media Executives Global Forum on Africa at the United Nations in November 2011.
Doni Glover, according to seasoned journalist Charles Robinson, is the quintessential backpack journalist. The City Paper in Baltimore named him the “Most Enterprising Journalist” in 2005. In 2012, Black Professional Men, Inc., a black male mentoring organization, has chosen to honor him with a Ray of Hope Award. Glover has been affiliated with the group since 1995.
In all, Doni Glover has been recognized by one group or another every year he’s been in business – including the Association of Black Media Workers’ “Best New Media” Award in 2006. Blend a mound of community service, including a prison ministry that has reached 14 to 17 year olds with adult crimes in the Baltimore City Detention Center – mix in a lot of media and business networking events that attract entrepreneurs from along the East Coast – and you’ve got Baltimore’s native son: Mr. Doni Glover … business, media, politics ... and a list of clients large and small who count on him for the truth and for access.
