Keynote Address by Don Fry at BMORENEWS' Jan. 14th Power Marketing in the 21st Century & Networking:
Donald C. Fry is president and CEO of the Greater Baltimore Committee (GBC), the central Maryland region's most prominent organization of business and civic leaders. He has been the chief executive of the GBC since November 1, 2002. Since that time he has presented a new vision for the GBC that is taking shape in the form of bold initiatives designed to strengthen the area's business climate.
He has made advocacy for viable regional transportation a top GBC priority, launching a three-pronged initiative that includes lobbying at the state level, monitoring and evaluating new developments and proposals, and working on the federal level to insure that regional transportation plans are funded. The GBC has been instrumental in gaining funding to begin the planning and construction of the Red Line, an east-west rapid transit system from Woodlawn to Inner Harbor East, and expansion of the existing Metro Green Line north from Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions.

A 20-year veteran of the Baltimore City Fire Department, Chief Cartwright has served with honor and distinction fulfilling many roles on his ascension to the management level of the department.
As the “face” of the Baltimore City Fire Department, Chief Cartwright is responsible for all external aspects of communication as well as facilitates the departments’ public, media, marketing and intergovernmental relations in addition to coordinating seasonal activities and publicity campaigns. Chief Cartwright serves as the agency’s Chief Spokesman and principal advisor to Fire Chief James S. Clack. His additional responsibilities include representing the Chief of Fire Department in his absence, conduct the Public Information Program at the scene of fires, other emergencies or disasters and provide information on agency activities; write and prepare publications, craft speeches, visual aids and exhibits.

September Soiree Set to Honor Ackneil Muldrow, II:
Ackneil M. Muldrow, II, is the retired President and Chief Executive Officer and Director of the Development Credit Fund, Inc., ("Fund") a $14.0 million commercial lender/loan fund manager that makes loans to small and minority-owned businesses in the mid-Atlantic Region. The fund was established in 1983 by the, then, six major commercial banks in Maryland and closed in August 2005. The initial revolving loan fund was setup at $7.5 million. Fund was successful in contracting with organizations to manage their loan funds. The Fund managed a $4.0 million Empowerment Zone revolving loan fund for the federally funded Empower Baltimore Management Corporation, the Baltimore City recipient of a $100 million U.S. Department of Housing and Community Development grant.
