JET MILLER: From MD/DC to NYC
BIO:
LaShella Miller (mostly referred to as Jet) is a professional make-up artist and beauty expert in the entertainment, fashion and beauty industry. Prior to pursuing a career in the beauty industry, she attended Morgan State University where she dual-majored and earned a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Public Relations & Broadcast Journalism. Afterwards, she furthered her graduate education at Sojourner-Douglass College studying Public Administration with hopes of fulfilling her, then, political aspirations.
Even while pursuing her career, her extracurricular activities were always immersed in her life’s passion of fashion and beauty. In 2004, she made a life-changing sacrifice to dissolve her career path as a government official and pursue a career in the fashion and beauty industry. She attended the B.E.A.T. (Beauty Expert & Artistry Training) Academy in Maryland under the leadership of RoShe' Anthony to study makeup artistry - thus, becoming licensed by the Maryland State Board of Cosmetologists as a Make-up Artist & Beauty Expert Demonstrator.
While making exceptional progress in the beauty world, she decided to start her own fashion showroom known as Image 7 Studio. This venture allowed her to widely publicize her talent & skill as a wardrobe stylist and fashion designer. The doors of this illustrious studio opened to the public in the summer of 2005 in Baltimore's Charles Village and remained in operation until 2011. Then, in 2007, she began working as a freelance wardrobe stylist for BET (Black Entertainment Television) and a wardrobe dresser & seamstress for The Ground Crew.
In 2009, she ventured to New York City to gain upward mobility in the make-up world by working with the Ken Barboza Agency as a Make-up Artist Assistant (MUAA). She also worked for the illustrious agency team of Epiphany Artist Group in Los Angeles serving as a MUAA as well. Being deemed the Regal Stylist and Face Innovator, she has worked with countless celebrities yet still considers herself a humble woman.
Today, she works as a distributor and demonstrator for Sacha Cosmetics and Ashea Hair Care Inc. In addition, she travels abroad as a Beauty Expert Trainer & Platform Demonstrator. In 2007, she launched her own make-up line called Just Jet and it is this name which eventually evolved into her existing business brand and enterprise. Just when she felt her tireless efforts in the fashion/beauty world had reached its conclusion, in February 2012 she was named an official nominee for the Maryland Fashion Awards in the category for High Fashion Make-up Artist of the Year. Jet, currently resides and maintains her base in Baltimore while still working between her hometown and New York.
