MB&CRD, GBBCC and www.bmorenews.com present April Biz Soiree
BMORENEWS' HARAMBEE Dinner Club presents the April Biz Soiree: Monday, April 20, 2009 - 6 to 8 pm - New Baltimore Hilton
(BALTIMORE - April 10, 2009) - And the best goes on! On Monday, April 20, 2009 from 6 to 8 pm at the New Baltimore Hilton's Diamond Tavern (www.diamondtavern.com), the Minority Business & Consumer Resource Directory (www.mbcrd.com), the Greater Baltimore Black Chamber of Commerce (www.gbbcc.biz) and www.bmorenews.com will present the April Biz Soiree. The Soiree is an extension of the bmorenews.com's HARAMBEE Dinner Club which began in the fall of 2002. Since then, special featured guests have included Sen. Ben Cardin, then-candidate for Maryland Lt. Governor - Michael Steele, Attorney General Doug Gansler, and Commercial Interiors President Kevin Johnson.
The purpose of these monthly networking events, according to Doni Glover, "... is to provide attendees the opportunity to put their business or organization in front of as many people as possible. Further, we typically invite politicians so as to provide constituents the opportunity to interface with them."
Considering that African Americans between Baltimore and Washington have an estimated annual buying power of some $45 billion, there is no reason why any black business or organization worth its salt ought be finding it difficult to keep their doors open and the lights on.
"Nationally, blacks garner some $800 billion in annual disposable income," said Glover. "Therefore, it behooves us to utilize the resources we have so as to take full advantage of this pot of money. Too often, others are capitalizing on our wealth. I say, it is time to flip the script!"
For the April Biz Soiree '09, we have guests from across the state of Maryland, including Prince George's, Howard and Anne Arundel counties - as well as Baltimore City.
A variety of business topics will be discussed, including the "Live Entertainment" bills currently before the Baltimore City Council and the Maryland General Assembly.
