EMPOWERING GIRLS AND WOMEN TO BE ALL THEY CAN BE!
About the Founder and CEO
Cheryl Wood is a "Mama on a Mission". As a wife, mother of three, and entrepreneur she relates to the daily struggle of women worldwide looking to find balance in their lives. It is a fact of life that women often have a tendency to care for everyone else but neglect themselves. Therefore, Cheryl's mission is to empower women and moms to nurture their own well-being in order to create balance within the many hats they wear. Moreover, as the mother of a 6-year-old daughter Cheryl's mission also incorporates the empowerment of young girls to acknowledge their self-worth, boldly achieve their dreams while pursuing their passion, and create a path of economic independence for themselves through entrepreneurship.
Cheryl launched Moms R The Best in June 2009 as an inspirational ladies apparel company geared towards celebrating womanhood and motherhood through the power of expression. The custom line of MRTB t-shirts presents sassy, comical, and sentimental slogans that address every facet of womanhood. Cheryl has received phenomenal recognition for her efforts since she launched the company in 2009 including being the recipient of the 2010 Outstanding Business Woman of the Year awarded to her The Professional Black Woman, appearances on Radio One's WOLB 1010AM Talk Radio Show and networking events, and a guest appearance on the 24hrMom Blog Talk Radio Show. Cheryl is energized and focused as she pursues her passion for motivational speaking, workshops, and other engagements geared towards empowering girls and women to lead successful and fulfilling lives. She demonstrates her deep passion for this cause by participating in various charitable community efforts to support girls and women.

The Team responded, "Jim Smith has served in all three branches of government: legislative, judicial, and executive, so he has wide experience and perspective. He knows the candidates and the issues, and, frankly, as he's not running for office, he has no political obligations except to speak his mind. So his endorsement means a great deal to us, and we very much appreciate his support and his vote of confidence." Read in Full >>

TGR: Guest Editorial: Fred's Army ... on the Eastern Shore of Maryland:
"...Two years of stalling tactics by the County Council prevented completion of the statue by Fred’s Army. Currently, Talbot County and Easton elected officials have placed obstacles in the pathway of Fred’s Army that are undoubtedly based on the racist attitudes of its members,” said Jackson-Amis. Council tactics have refused to allow the African American Archeologists, Dr. Anna Agbe-Davies and Alexandra Jones access to the courthouse grounds to complete a required survey. Constantly, the Council changed the design requirements for the statue and after Fred’s Army had fully complied with the changes directed by Council, it then refused to give permission for the installation of the statue.
