(PRINCE GEORGE'S - July 13, 2012) - Join us in congratulating Gabrielle J. Williams for receiving the "Outstanding CEO Award" from the Greater Prince George's Business Roundtable. She is the youngest recipient of this award in the organizations history. Very Proud! She owns Jewelz of Jordan.
Gabrielle was also recently featured in New York at the BMORENEWS Global Forum on Women's Empowerment at the United Nations.
I am so inspired by her. She is wise beyond her years and is a huge motivation to so many of us - a gentle reminder that "it's not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog." Hers is an example of what hard work and tenacity combined with a pleasant personality can accomplish.
Continued success, Gabrielle! You inspire so many people, dear heart! Do continue to educate yourself and aim for the stars!

Classic example: prisons. Somebody is voting for more and more prisons. My issue is that too many people who look just like me keep filling these cells. Currently, America has the Gold! It incarcerates 25% of the world's inmates, 40% who are black and male ... like me.

CHICAGO: Black Star Project: Commencement Remarks By First Lady Michelle Obama for Bowie State University
But most of all, to the Bowie State University class of 2013, congratulations. (Applause.) Oh, congratulations. You don't know how proud we all are of you. Just look at you. We're so proud of how hard you worked, all those long hours in the classroom, in the library. Oh, yeah. Amen. (Laughter.) All those jobs you worked to help pay your tuition. Many of you are the first in your families to get a college degree. (Applause.) Some of you are balancing school with raising families of your own. (Applause.) So I know this journey hasn't been easy. I know you've had plenty of moments of doubt and frustration and just plain exhaustion. Read in Full >>
