TGR: March Soiree ’09 – Business Networking at its Finest: ‘Tis Good When Brethren Dwell Together’
By Doni Glover, www.bmorenews.com
(BALTIMORE – March 25, 2009) - There is a certain African quality about the Soiree. A notion of greatness is presumed ubiquitously in an air of light, gracefully touching each soul who enters its doors at the New Baltimore Hilton’s Diamond Tavern.
Having concluded our second monthly event at the Hilton, I am reminded of how this business networking event has built itself up since its inception back in the fall of 2002. Originally claimed as the HARAMBEE Dinner Club, this event has transformed and re-created itself in the blink of an eye – with the same ultimate goal: Success!
And that communal goal of hundreds of people over the years carries with it an ordaining spirit that clearly and succinctly states that all who come must inevitably come to know the concept of giving. Some call it service. Whatever the term, therein lies the universal truth for all mankind: You get what you give! Put a little in; get a little out. Put a lot in; get a lot out. It’s real simple! It’s called the law of reciprocity.
I say, give your best to the world, and the world will give its best back to you.
Support black business. After all, it is the engine of the community and a top supporter of the concept of family.
FYI, last night's Soiree featured a number of business owners and professionals who are in Howard County. Last year, the Sun reported that Howard County was the most upwardly mobile jurisdiction in the state of Maryland and among the most lucrative places in America.
Stay-tuned to www.bmorenews.com for details on our next business-networking event.
