(OWINGS MILLS – April 23, 2009) – Calling all ladies in Randallstown, Owings Mills, Pikesville and beyond: www.bmorenews.com has something extra-special planned for you.
This Monday from 6 to 8 pm, a dynamic line-up of powerful women will speak at “Woman Power” – a bmorenews networking and empowerment event planned especially for the woman. The location is XSCAPE Hair Studio, 9419 Common Brook Rd. in Owings Mills, Maryland.
Special guests include Maryland General Assembly Speaker Pro Tem Adrienne Jones, Diane Bell-McKoy (Pres. & CEO of Associated Black Charities of Maryland), Rosanna Miles (Maryland Healthcare For All), Shelonda Stokes (CEO of gREIBO Media), Doris McMillon (CEO of McMillon Communications, Author, and Member of the Women Business Owners of Prince George's County), Dr. Anne O. Emery (Educator & Founder of the Bluford Drew Jemison Academy), Darlene Adams (CPA and Founder of Adams & Associates), Patricia Henderson (Pres. of the Real Estate Brokers of Baltimore), Dawn Barnes (Owner/Operator of Little Repeats), DPN Group's Andrea M. Jackson, Lauren Shipley (Marketing Manager for the College Savings Plan of Maryland), Attorney Laticia Jones (Criminal Law/Traffic/Family Law/Civil Litigation), WEAA 88.9 FM's "Real Money" host Deborah Owens, Elena Siri of Elena Siri Crochet Fashions, Stacie Price of Visionary Financial Strategies, Kanika Feaster of www.TalkLounge.org, Kristy Johnson of Shepreneur Magazine (www.shepreneur.com), Leslie Frederick (Principal of Integrity and Trust Mortgage), Angela Lewis (President of Women of Worth), Quinn Conyers, Host of "The Quinn Conyers Show", Rev. Raiza Abdul Rahim, and Dwauna Maura (Sr. Sales Director with Mary Kay).
Considering that Baltimore County’s northwest corridor is home to some of the most upwardly bound African Americans in the area, there should be little wonder why we planned this event. After all, northwest Baltimore County is to Baltimore what Prince George’s County is to Washington, DC. Further, this general Baltimore-DC area for African Americans has an estimated $45 billion in annual buying power.
Every speaker will bring something special to this Monday’s “Woman Power.” Each one is exceptional in their industries and are categorized among the “movers and shakers” politically, media-wise, professionally – you name it!
The hostesses for the evening are Jewel West and Deborah Wiggs, along with the rest of the staff at XSCAPE. Also, free beauty makeovers will be available.
