ARRESTED ROGUE COP DOTSON PULLED WEAPON ON BUSINESS MAN HOURS BEFORE ATTEMPTED MURDER INCIDENT
(BALTIMORE – March 29, 2009) - A Baltimore entrepreneur’s claims are confirmed about Officers Dotson and Fontaine Smallwood after Baltimore City Police decided to criminally charged Officer Patrick Dotson with attempted murder and assault. On March 8, 2009, just eight (8) hours before Officer Dotson opened fire on an innocent man’s vehicle, Dotson placed his service weapon at Raymond Nelson’s head and forced him from his establishment, Chopper's Tavern, on Pennsylvania Avenue.
As reported on March 16, 2009 via press release, Nelson and two (2) of his employees were taken from the inside of Chopper’s Tavern by Dotson at gun point and forced to sit on the curb while handcuffed with their legs crossed for about an hour. Patrons of Chopper’s were present at the time of the incident. After BCPD supervisors arrived, Smallwood and Dotson were verbally reprimanded and Nelson was told he can “drop the situation” and be released or “go downtown.”
Now the Baltimore police have charged this same city officer, Dotson, with attempted murder and assault after he fired his department-issued handgun during a bar fight on March 9, 2009. A notice of claim has already been filed with the Baltimore City Solicitors office on behalf of Nelson and his two employees.
All personnel wanting further information should contact Attorney Granville Templeton, III via telephone at 410.244.8229.
