Baltimore County Corvette Club Organizes Bea Gaddy Food Drive :: Over 150 Vettes from DMV, Tri-State
(BALTIMORE - November 12, 2011) - What started out a couple of years ago with 5 Corvettes has turned into a multi-state effort to combat hunger. The Baltimore County Corvette Club organized an incredible food drive and fundraiser for the Bea Gaddy Family Center in East Baltimore, an outreach effort that touches more than 55,000 tummies for Thanksgiving.
The late Bea Gaddy must have been smiling from heaven as Corvettes cruised in from Prince George’s County, Washington, D.C., Virginia, Delaware and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with a whole lot of food. Bimbo donated trucks of bread. It was really a beautiful thing as people of all races joined together today on Chester Street in East Baltimore.
The tremendous outpouring of love was accented with some choice musical performances by Nucleus (gospel), Meeka (gospel standout), Marcus Miller the Gospel Rapper, and Master T, the man who wooed the ladies with his Barry White songs.
The day couldn’t have been more perfect. Special thanks to Dave Green in Baltimore County for a strong helping hand. The emcee was none other than BMORENEWS publisher Doni Glover.
