Bikers converge to Baltimore, MD kicking off the Brain Cancer
Research for a Cure Foundations “Creating Hope Motorcycle Ride” to benefit the Research of world-renown Neurosurgeon and Scientist Dr. Alfredo Quinones-Hinojosa, M.D.
(BALTIMORE – August 18, 2009) - Motorcycle Riders and enthusiasts from up and down the East Coast will be joining the Brain Cancer Research for a Cure Foundation and world-renowned Neurosurgeon and Scientist, Dr. Alfredo Quinones-Hinojosa for the historic charity event. The Brain Cancer Research for a Cure Foundation’s “Creating Hope Motorcycle Ride” is supported by over 100 Motorcycle Clubs with over 2000 registered bikers, Brain Cancer patients, their families and local government agencies. Bikers will meet at Apple Ford in Columbia, MD and be led by police escort to M&T Bank Stadium. Brain Cancer patients, Bikers and other supports will all rally together in parking lot-B of M&T Bank Stadium and enjoy food and shopping from local vendors, entertainment and a motorcycle raffle.
The Creating Hope Motorcycle Ride, in it’s inaugural year, reflects the mission of the Brain Cancer Research for a Cure Foundation’s by bringing about public awareness to the deadly disease of Brain Cancer and serving as a source to raise funds that will aid researchers in their daily battle to find a cure and create a better quality of life for Brain Cancer Patients. The Creating Hope Motorcycle Ride will bring national attention to the devastating disease of Brain Cancer that is the number one cancer killer of children from infancy to 19 years of age.
“I think that the “Creating Hope Motorcycle Ride” represents the journey that patients and their families take to battle Brain Cancer by holding on to hope and never giving up until reaching our destination”, states Dr. Alfredo Quinones-Hinojosa. “I am extremely excited about this ride because HOPE is the feeling we should always hold on to during difficult times”, continues Dr. Quinones.
Dr. Alfredo Quinones-Hinojosa who serves on the board of the foundation as the Director of Medical Research is in the forefront of Brain Cancer Research. He was induced into the Hispanic Scholarship Funds “Hall of Fame” also he has been named one of the United States “Brilliant 10 Scientist” in 2008 by Popular Science Magazine and recently was honored with the 2009 American Role Model Award from the Prestigious Olender Foundation.
