(BALTIMORE – June 20, 2012) - The 2012 African American Festival will take place on Saturday, July 7th and Sunday, July 8th at M&T Bank. The 2012 African American Festival will again partner with Radio One’s Stone Soul Picnic for another exciting event full of entertainment, family fun, and performances. www.BMORENEWS.com is a proud media sponsor.

Hailed as the largest celebration of African America culture on the East Coast, The Festival hosts more than 150 Sponsors and Exhibitors, and provides Baltimoreans with a culmination of art, education, family-fun and culture. According to organizers, last year’s festival brought out over a half-million attendees.

At this year’s festival, event-goers can look forward to the festival’s new style and expanded grounds, the ‘Let’s Get Moving’ interactive sports area, literacy programs, Fashion Forward, a separate kids carnival, one-main performance stage, as well as additional art showcases, activities, new sponsors and partnerships, and exciting happenings leading up to the festival.  

The Festival Advisory Board is Chaired by Radio One’s Cathy Hughes and includes Dr. Walter G. Amprey; Dr. Reginald S. Avery; Diane L. Bell-McKoy; Monyka Berrocosa; Michael A. Brown; J.P. Grant; Pless Jones, Sr.; Kevin Liles; Kenneth L. Thompson; Thomas E. Wilcox; Dr. David Wilson and Molly Shattuck.
