BMORENEWS Publisher Doni Glover Back on Speakers' Circuit

Doni Glover-8
BMORENEWS Publisher Doni Glover, also the co-founder of the HARAMBEE Dinner Club (a monthly business/political networking series that began in 2002), is pictured here at a 2003 HARAMBEE at BWI Airport.

(BALTIMORE – January 13, 2008) – Public speaking is Doni Glover’s forte. From East Baltimore to East Africa, the West Baltimorean and founder of this news service (www.bmorenews.com) has delighted audiences with his wit, charm, and mastery of the English language.

Last year, his speaking engagements included appearances at the 2008 Men of Influence Luncheon at VMG’s Annual Black Business Forum, the National Association of Black Journalists’ Watergate Conference at Georgetown University in Washington, the Grand Opening of William C. March Middle School, the 1st Annual Bob Wade Roast at Martin’s West, the Alpha Kappa Alpha Leadership Forum, and his annual emceeing role at the Harford County “Vote the Power” Gala hosted by The Grassroots Steering Committee.

He added, “As always, the goal is to push our 5-point agenda at bmorenews.com – in whole or in part - including black business, public education, ex-offender services, affordable housing, and universal access to healthcare.”

In the past years, he has spoken before fellow journalists in Amman, Jordan, to a church congregation in Arusha, Tanzania, to young adult males on the Baltimore City Detention Center's notorious "L" Section, to students at the University of Virginia, before Maryland State legislators in Annapolis on several occassions, and at dozens of other events both locally and nationally.

Starting off the year in fashion, Glover announced yesterday that he will be emceeing the quarterly breakfast meeting of The Presidents Roundtable on Friday, January 23rd at the Reginald F. Lewis Museum of African American Heritage and Culture (FMI, please call VMG at 410.235.4427). This event will feature Arnold Williams, Eddie Brown and Joe Haskins and is to focus on the future health of minority businesses in such a dismal international economy.

Also, Glover will be a panelist at Johns Hopkins University’s School of Public Health on Wednesday, February 11th from 12 to 1:30 pm discussing alcohol and tobacco abuse as they relate to the minority community. The forum will consider the role of the media.

Glover, a Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program Scholar and graduate of Coppin State University began his collegiate career at Morehouse College in Atlanta and completed graduate course work at Morgan State University in International Affairs.

In addition to being the founder and publisher of bmorenews.com since 2002, he is a PR expert, radio show talk host on WOLB 1010 AM (now in his 10th year), writer, photographer, political economy consultant, and political analyst for Baltimore NBC affiliate WBAL TV 11. Further, he has been quoted in a number of publications particularly across the Baltimore-DC region and is scheduled to appear on WBAL TV 11’s “TV Hill” this Sunday, January 18th at 11:30 am discussing the recent indictments of local politicians in Greater Baltimore.

According to Glover, “It is always an honor to be invited to speak at various venues and share my experiences and observations with attendees.”

He added, “As always, the goal is to push our 5-point agenda at bmorenews.com – in whole or in part - including black business, public education, ex-offender services, affordable housing, and universal access to healthcare.”
