Chris Brown Rally at Empowerment Temple in Baltimore TONITE :: 7 pm
Baltimore Pastor Jamal-Harrison Bryant, who led the public out-cry against George Zimmerman for Trayvon Martin, now does the same for the Unjust Murder of Baltimore youth: Christopher Brown.
(BALTIMORE - August 7, 2012) - It’s now been over 50 days and the mother of slain Christopher Brown, the 17-yar old Randallstown High School student chased down by an off-duty Baltimore County police, and killed during an altercation on Wednesday night, June 13, -- is still seeking and is calling for justice.
Chris Brown, the mother and her attorney have been asking for a further investigation of the killing of Christopher Brown that was ruled by the state medical examiner as a homicide by asphyxiation. The Ccurrent charge that was given to the Baltimore County officer was Manslaughter; which the family is unhappy about and is asking for a stiffer charge, calling for 1st or 2nd Degree Murder. The family attorney, Russell Neverdon is doing what he can to pressure the States Attorneys office to get a stiffer charge. However, they feel that the Baltimore County State’s Attorney Scott Shellenberger has not been accommodating nor forthright in the investation.
WHAT: The family has called on the NAACP, NAN (National Action Network, lead by Rev. Al Sharpton) and Pastor Jamal Bryant to help bring attention to this matter. Pastor Jamal Bryant and Rev. Al Sharpton worked closely with Sybrina Fulton, mother of slain Florida teenager Trayvon Martin, and attorney Benjamin Crump, and have agreed to work with the Brown family until they feel justice is had. The Glover Report: It's Election Time!:
Whether it's Detroit, Chicago, Atlanta - wherever, black people have to come to better understand a Delegate from a state Senator and a state Senator from a US Senator. We have to understand what the local Council does, what the state assembly does, and what is done in Congress. We also have to understand the legislation they write and who it impacts. Classic example: prisons. Somebody is voting for more and more prisons. My issue is that too many people who look just like me keep filling these cells. Currently, America has the Gold! It incarcerates 25% of the world's inmates, 40% who are black and male ... like me.

CHICAGO: Black Star Project: Commencement Remarks By First Lady Michelle Obama for Bowie State University:
But most of all, to the Bowie State University class of 2013, congratulations. (Applause.) Oh, congratulations. You don't know how proud we all are of you. Just look at you. We're so proud of how hard you worked, all those long hours in the classroom, in the library. Oh, yeah. Amen. (Laughter.) All those jobs you worked to help pay your tuition. Many of you are the first in your families to get a college degree. (Applause.) Some of you are balancing school with raising families of your own. (Applause.) So I know this journey hasn't been easy. I know you've had plenty of moments of doubt and frustration and just plain exhaustion. Read in Full >>
