HSRN: GREEN TO REPRESENT JCSU AND JAMAICA IN OLYMPICS
400m hurdles opening round on August 3rd
(CHARLOTTE - July 30, 2012) – Johnson C. Smith University alumnus Leford Green will compete in the 400 meter hurdles on Friday, August 3rd in the 2012 London Summer Olympics. The first round of the 400m hurdles will begin at 5:15 a.m. EST.
Green won the national champion in the event for the third consecutive year at the 2012 Jamaica National Championships. He won the race with a season best time of 48.88.
Green is a 2011 JCSU graduate. While at JCSU, Green won the indoor and outdoor NCAA Division II crowns in the 400m dash during his senior season. He ran his best time in the 400m hurdles (48.47) at the 2010 CAC Championships in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico.
Green, a native of St. Catherine, will represent Jamaica as their 400m hurdles champion.
