"Justice for Christopher Brown" Rally :: JOIN US TODAY – 6:00pm :: FRONT OF THE STATE’s ATTORNEY’s OFFICE

(BALTIMORE - July 2, 2012 ) - On June 13, 2012, my 17 year-old son, Christopher Brown, was murdered by off-duty Baltimore County Police Officer James Laboard.
These are the facts given by the police dept:
· A rock was thrown at Officer Laboard’s door (witnesses have said that it was not Christopher);
· Laboard left his house and chased the group of boys in a direction that he thought they ran - Christopher, wearing a knee brace, was hiding in the bushes;
· After finding him hidden behind a bush, he pulled him out resulting in death by asphyxiation. It seems, Officer Laboard lied during the original interview, stating that he was stopping a burglary.
The Baltimore County State’s Attorney presented only two manslaughter charges to the grand jury. Officer Laboard was indicted and released without bail. They say I was notified of the bail review thru a telephone conversation. I was not. Clearly Baltimore County does not take this crime or its Officer’s behavior as seriously as I would like. Officer Laboard has been charged with manslaughter & involuntary manslaughter, but the charges are unacceptable. It was clearly MURDER! I ask what is a young black life worth?

Unwanted pregnancies often are the result of loneliness, fear and a lack of information. Crisis pregnancy centers deal with all this.
