The GBLA, The Young Professionals' Auxiliary of the Greater Baltimore Urban League, was created to support the objectives of the Urban League as it endeavors to improve the quality of life for African-Americans and other minorities through political involvement, financial literacy, social activism, education and professional development. To facilitate the above objectives the GBLA has adopted a three-pronged approach to improved the quality of life for those within Baltimore City and it's surrounding counties. This approach is comprised of, real world education, financial empowerment, and political activism.
Headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland, the Monumental City Bar Association (MBA) has a long legacy and rich history as an advocate for African-American attorneys and the interests of the African American community in Baltimore City. Embracing a commitment to service and to excellence, our members have made significant contributions to the legal community in Baltimore City and throughout the state of Maryland. Our members continue to serve prominently in the judiciary, state and federal government, law firms, academia, corporate and non-profit organizations. As we honor the organization’s commitment to service, we invite you to join us and to support our association in the various events for our members and the community that we host or participate in throughout the year.
Black Professional Men, Inc. (BPM) is a nonprofit organization based in Baltimore, Maryland and established in 1991 to address the social, economic and political awareness needs of the African-American community, especially those of the African-American male. BPM members serve as mentors and as role models for young African-American men primarily in and around the Baltimore metro region. Members are also active in other mentoring programs, speaking engagements across the state, and serve on non-profit boards aimed at helping develop the African-American community. We attempt to instill a sense of pride in our mentees to be strong African-American men. We make positive changes in their lives both in school and in the community which prepares them to take advantage of life’s opportunities.
