Faye Royale-Larkins, New CEO of Total Health Care

(BALTIMORE - July 9, 2012) – The Board of Directors of Total Health Care, Inc. has selected Faye Royale-Larkins as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Total Health Care, Inc. 

Mrs. Larkins’ selection followed the conclusion of a national search by the Total Health Care, Inc. Board of Directors.

Mrs. Larkins grew up in West Baltimore and received her Bachelors of Arts degree in 1972 from Morgan State University, located in Baltimore, Maryland.  In 1977, she received her Bachelor of Science of Nursing from State University of New York and her Master of Public Health degree 1974 from the University of Michigan, School of Public Health, Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Mrs. Larkins has over 30+ years of clinical and health executive management experience in community health care, physician group management and hospital operations.  Mrs. Larkins joined the Bon Secours Baltimore Health System (Baltimore, Maryland) in 2004 as Executive Director for Ambulatory Care, and was promoted in 2011 to Chief Operating Officer and Chief Nursing Officer, a position she  held prior to accepting her new CEO role at Total Health Care, Inc.  Previous to joining Bon Secours, she served as Chief Operating Officer for Saint Louis ConnectCare Health System, a safety net health system in Saint Louis, Missouri.

As a Senior Executive, Mrs. Larkins gained a broad-based background in community health care, physician group management and hospital operations. 

Mrs. Larkins is described by her peers as a no-nonsense leader when it comes to the business of healthcare and being there for the community.   She is “a consummate professional” who is passionate about quality patient care and the professionals and staff who deliver it. Mrs. Larkins career reflects her unwavering commitment to improving access to care and reducing health disparities for at-risk populations and underserved communities.

According to Total Health Care, Inc. Chairman of the Board Kimber Luckey, “Mrs. Larkins’ will join Total Health Care on July 2nd, succeeding CEO Dennis Cherot who resigned in December 2011. Mrs. Larkins will be the first female appointed to serve as CEO for Total Health Care, Inc.  Her extensive experience made her an ideal candidate to lead Total Health Care in our ever-changing and challenging health care environment.”

Total Health Care, Inc., a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) is Maryland’s largest minority-operated non-profit Community Health Center.  It serves a population that is largely African American and economically disadvantaged.  THC serves more than 30,000 patients annually and has nine sites throughout Baltimore City.
