Theatre Project presents VT Dance:
Theatre Project presents Vincent E. Thomas and VTDance, for two exciting weekends of dance. Vincent is a recipient of a 2009 Baker Artist-Peoples' Choice Award (established by the William G. Baker, Jr. Memorial Fund) and a 2009 Best of Baltimore- Choreographer Award. The residency will feature two award winning programs- the Grandmother Project and Witness. Both works received the acclaimed MetroDC Dance Awards for Outstanding New Work and Witness is a 2008 John F. Kennedy Center Local Dance Commission Project. Featured performers include: 2009 Mary Sawyers Baker Prize Artist Carl Grubbs (saxophone), Linda-Denise Fisher-Harrell, students of the Morton Street Dance Center, Sharon Chaiklin, and Senior Electricity.
Performances for Grandmother Project are March 19, 20 @ 8pm and March 21 @ 3pm.
Performance for Witness are March 26, 27 @ 8pm and March 28 @ 3pm.

"The Wire" Actor Pens Track For Haiti:
Feeling helpless, Chaney decided to respond to the disaster and the hopes of the people of Haiti in the only way he knew how. While in the studio, he penned a track simply entitled "Dear Haiti" to showcase the resilience of their country and to those who are helping to reshape it.

The Wire", political scandals, indictments, drugs, and gang violence ushers three sisters to salute building better communities and brighter futures. The rough streets of Baltimore often obscurely portrayed in the media, now has a softer side: Sage. Winning over the ears and hearts of people of all ages with their catchy tunes and eclectic sounds, Sage is comprised of three biological sisters from Baltimore - Rell, Muffin, and Melody. The birth-name, SAGE, derived from the original name of their former gospel group, “Sisters of Agape”, given to their mother in a dream. The acronym S.A.G.E. stands for “Sisters of Agape with Essence.”

Dakshina premieres in Baltimore!
Dakshina/Daniel Phoenix Singh Dance Company will showcase Anna Sokolow's pivotal work Dreams at the Baltimore Theatre Project, along with their signature program featuring the Baltimore premiere of Karna, a Bharata Natyam piece, an ancient Indian dance form known for its use of symmetry, angular lines, rhythmic footwork and interpretative mime that explores spiritual and philosophical themes.
