Black Wall Street ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION, 5.31.17 @ Terra Cafe, 101 E. 25th Street

(BALTIMORE – April 24, 2017) – On May 31-June1, 1921, Black Wall Street in Tulsa was bombed and burned to the ground. In the process, 10,000 African Americans were disaffected. Further, 600 black businesses were destroyed.

For the past six years, Bmorenews and its partners have presented hundreds of black entrepreneurs and professionals as well as the people who support them regardless of race with our coveted Joe Manns Black Wall Street Award. We have held such award ceremonies in New York, Baltimore, Washington D.C., Atlanta and New Orleans.

The goal is to encourage and support black businesses. We believe that the stronger black businesses become, the better they can support black causes – such as reversing underemployment in the black community.

In short, it’s a do-for-self effort with lasting results.
