(BALTIMORE – October 12, 2018) – Since 2011, Bmorenews.com and its Partners have been celebrating black/African American entrepreneurs and professionals as well as the people who support them regardless of race. To date, we have recognized hundreds in 5 US cities: New York, Baltimore, Washington, Atlanta and New Orleans. Honorees receive the coveted Joe Manns Black Wall Street Award by Manns Awards and Trophies in Gwynn Oak, MD.
We do this in honor of the 600 black-owned businesses that were bombed from the air and destroyed May 31-June 1, 1921 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This horrific tragedy on American soil is a constant reminder to us of what our ancestors achieved despite the racism, the violence, and the like. We are also reminded that with a little teamwork, forgiveness, and yes – love, we can accomplish even more today.
Truth be told, African Americans have over a trillion dollars in annual disposable income. Hence, it is our belief that any African American entrepreneur with a decent product or service, a good grasp of customer service, and a lot of hustle should be able to succeed in the worst of business climates.
To this end, Bmorenews in conjunction with the Greater Baltimore Urban League present the long-anticipated National Black Wall Street Summit on Thursday, November 8, 2018 from 10 am to 2 pm at the Greater Baltimore Urban League. It is located at 512 Orchard Street on the cusp of Downtown Baltimore.
