President Obama Donates Nobel Prize Money to Charity

RNC Records Best Fundraising Month Under Steele

(WASHINGTON - February 22, 2010) - The RNC reported its best fundraising month under chairman Michael Steele in January as it announced raising $10.5M. The committee banked $9.4M at the end of the month.

"With another month of strong fundraising," Steele said in a statement, "we are confident and well positioned to continue winning this November and finally bring the American people the fiscally responsible and conservative governance they are demanding."

City Council President Young Speaks at "Political Cocktails"

(BALTIMORE - February 17, 2010) - About 60 people came out last night to Eden's Lounge for BMORENEWS' "Political Cocktails" series. The featured guest was the new Baltimore City Council President, Bernard "Jack" Young.

"Political Cocktails" is an extension of "Politics '06" and "City7" - a series of political mixers held in Greater Baltimore, Washington DC, Prince George's and Montgomery counties.

The purpose is to provide exposure for candidates and information to voters.

Del. Cardin's Update from Annapolis

In spite of the snow, we have managed to have our daily sessions and try our best to keep movement in Annapolis. I am looking forward to a warm spell to melt the snow as we will be scheduling the hearings for election law bills in the coming weeks. If there is one piece of positive news due to the snow, it is that the Board of Public Works had to postpone its vote on a supplemental appropriation on the touch screen voting systems. After our briefing with the State Board, there are questions as to whether its contract for the voting system is fraught with unnecessary expenses. I am hopeful that we can get to the bottom of this so that the Board of Public Works has full information before approving more spending and before any unfavorable contracts are accepted.
