Meet Boyd K. Rutherford, Assistant Secretary for Administration for the USDA

On January 17, 2006, President George W. Bush nominated Boyd K. Rutherford to the position of Assistant Secretary for Administration to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). He was confirmed, by unanimous consent, by the United States Senate on May 12, 2006. As Assistant Secretary, he serves as the Department's: Chief Acquisition Officer, Chief Human Capital Officer, the Senior Energy and Environmental Official; the Freedom of Information Act Officer, and directs the Department's emergency operations center and related emergency management functions.

Lt. Governor Brown Named to DNC Platform Drafting Committee

Maryland Lt. Governor Anthony G. Brown was named yesterday to the Democratic National Committee’s Platform Drafting Committee. The Drafting Committee, which will be led by Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano, is charged with drafting the Democratic Party’s platform in advance of the Party’s national convention in Denver.

County Executive Ike Leggett To Host Governor at CountyStat Session on Overtime

MD Democratic Party Update: Maryland Democrats Complete Convention Delegation

The Maryland Democratic State Central Committee this morning put the final stamp of approval on the list of 99 delegates and 12 alternates who will attend the Democratic National Convention in Denver, Colorado on August 25^th. All of Maryland’s delegates to the Democratic National Convention have now been named. Today, 24 pledged “add-on” delegates were allocated to each presidential candidate in proportion to the statewide primary vote. Sen. Hillary Clinton received 9 “add-ons” and Sen. Barack Obama received 15. The Maryland Democratic State Central Committee voted overwhelmingly for the delegates approved by each presidential candidate’s campaign.
