LEGAL
Georgia Goslee, a graduate of University of Maryland School of Law, is a member of the Maryland Bar. Early in her legal career as a partner in a Baltimore law firm, Georgia distinguished herself as a trial lawyer. She subsequently served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney (criminal division), Attorney-Advisor to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights and Chief Contracts' Compliance Officer to the City Solicitor of Baltimore City.
Georgia has been granted special admission (pro hac vice) to litigate in New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Missouri, North Carolina, Virginia, District of Columbia and Florida. During that time, she represented clients in a wide variety of criminal cases and civil trials. Most notable among these was an intellectual property case in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida representing Fitness Institute International. This case held special significance to Georgia because she graduated from the institution that later became her client. After her graduation from Fitness Institute International in 1996, a feat she considers to be a major accomplishment in her life, she began her European sabbatical and served as a visiting law professor teaching International Business Law in Geneva, Switzerland.
BROADCAST JOURNALISM
Currently, Georgia appears regularly as a legal commentator on national talk-shows including: the former "Abrams Report" on MSNBC, "Catherine Crier" on Court TV, "The Lineup" hosted by Kimberly Guilfoyle, "The Big Story", "Hannity and Colmes" on Fox News Live, "The Big Idea" with Donnie Deutch on CNBC, “Star Jones Show”, “Nancy Grace”, "The O'Reilly Factor" on Fox News Live, "Tucker Carlson" on MSNBC, CNN and the "Armstrong Williams" Radio Show where she provides legal commentary on high profile legal issues in the news. Most recently she provided legal commentary on Fox News regarding the Madoff and Blagojevich scandals in January 2009.
Georgia's media experience makes her well suited to debate on national television. She is a former broadcast journalist who appeared as a television commentator for more than thirteen years. During that time, Georgia was a regular panelist on "Square-Off', a Saturday night news and political talk-show which aired on WJZ- TV 13 (then an ABC affiliate) in Baltimore, Maryland.
She also co-hosted a Public Affairs television talk-show for four years called "Sunday Live" and was featured on a diet workshop series, which also aired on WJZ- TV 13. She served as a legal commentator appearing on the Montel Williams Show during the O.J. Simpson criminal trial and on the nationally syndicated television show, Toni Brown's Journal.
POLITICAL
In 1982, Georgia made history in Maryland when she became a candidate for judge on the Circuit Court for Baltimore City (then the Supreme Bench). This was the first time a woman made an independent bid for a judicial seat in the history of the state. Despite her significant primary victory city-wide, she lost the general election by a margin of only 900 votes. Three years later, the first African-American female judge in Maryland, Mabel Houze Hubbard, was appointed to the Circuit Court for Baltimore City.
