Mayor Rawlings-Blake Receives Transition Team Reports:
Yesterday, co-chairs of the Transition Team for Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake presented reports with their recommendations to her at City Hall. The reports are the result of a comprehensive review of city government by a diverse group of independent business and community leaders.
The report contains 49 independent recommendations to improve city government by increasing efficiency and effectiveness, ensuring transparency and ethical conduct, increasing intergovernmental collaboration and promoting public-private partnerships. The team pledged to continue their pro bono services with the administration in the coming months to assist in with the implementation of these recommendations.

(BALTIMORE - March 18, 2010) - Thursday night, Wayne Curry joined a packed house of leadership thirsty Baltimore leaders to discuss the possibility of his candidacy for Maryland Governor this year.
Invited by Bmorenews.com and hosted by the Frederick Douglass-Isaac Myers Museum, Mr. Curry carefully chose his words and interjections as he delicately painted a picture of needed fiscal leadership for a State suffering economic hardships.
The former PG County Executive, the first African-American elected to this post, also answered questions relating to what a successful gubernatorial campaign looks like for a black candidate who has never independently won a statewide position. Reflecting on his past accomplishment regarding that fete in Prince George's, he was less worried about the race factor as he was in making sure his message got out to the entire Maryland electorate.
