(BALTIMORE – April 1, 2009) – Blacks, whites, Asians and others showed up at Morgan State University last night at a community meeting conducted by the Baltimore City Council to discuss a pending piece of legislation – the “Live Entertainment –Licensing and Regulation – Hospitality Service – Promotion and Coordination Bill”.

Apparently, there is much concern about this ubiquitous piece of legislation being proposed by Baltimore City Council President Stephanie Rawlings Blake that could drastically change how live entertainment occurs in the city.

In a packed room at Morgan State University’s new Communications Building, representatives on the City Council, including Councilman Jim Kraft, heard a variety of comments from individuals who were artists, promoters and club owners, among others.
