Right Down the Middle: Meet www.bmorenews.com's Associate Editor, Hassan Giordano
Giordano is Newest Blogger to Baltimore Examiner
(BALTIMORE - November 26, 2008) - www.bmorenews.com recently welcomed aboard Hassan Giordano as an Associate Editor. Today, we must congratulate him for being the newest blogger for the Baltimore Examiner (see http://www.examiner.com/x-1899-Baltimore-Independent-Examiner), something for which he has truly earned through diligence and persistence. We are extremely proud of his accomplishments, his knowledge, and his dedication to the whole realm of politics - especially for a relatively young man.
So, who is he?
According to the Baltimore Sun (April 21, 2006),"Hassan Giordano isn't one of those political types in a three-piece suit, with a fancy degree. He's the guy who is up at 6 a.m., in a white polo scarfing down waffles, convincing students that politics might save their lives - as it did for him!"
The 32-year-old political strategist and blogger is the Senior Consultant for Giordano and Associates. The former radio and television talk show host has now brought his political insight to the web and put his expert and humble opinions to paper, with his self-created blog, Right Down the Middle.
Mr. Giordano, the former campaign blogger for the Mfume for U.S. Senate team is the recipient of numerous awards such as Youth Votes’ nationally recognized "30 under 30" award for being among the top national political consultants under the age of 30. The former political analyst for WEAA’s 88.9 broadcast 'Listen Up' and 92Q’s 'Big Phat Morning Show’s' political correspondent for its 'Vote Young' campaign now brings you written political coverage of the most complex and interesting problems facing us today, while offering ideal solutions to remedy an ailing society.
Right Down the Middle is an insightful and independent political blog focusing on national trends with 'America’s Awakening', the state legislator with the 'Maryland Minute' and the local City Council review with the 'Baltimore Beat'. Having previously worked for and/or represented clients ranging from former Councilman and Congressman Kweisi Mfume to former state Delegate Salima Siler Marriott to Baltimore City Mayor Sheila Dixon and many more, Giordano has the hands-on behind-the-scenes knowledge and insight on campaigning, polling, communications and public policy.
Right Down the Middle is for the entertainment, education and pure delight for those who want a non-partisan yet detailed and insightful history of the hottest stories in today’s news coverage. It is with your reading and input that makes this blog - found on www.bmorenews.com's The Glover Report - so successful, therefore Giordano looks forward to your colorful and tasteful thoughts with replies to his articles and blogs.
Feel free to respond or contact him at brothahassan@yahoo.com. FMI, you may visit him @ www.myspace.com/comradehassan.

TGR: Will Leronia Josey Make County History?:
Baltimore County Councilman Ken Oliver could have his hands full this election season - that is, if Ms. Josey decides to put her bid in for his seat. While Oliver is the first black to serve on the County Council, a loss to Josey would make her the first black woman to serve on the Baltimore County Council - a crew that consists mostly of white males. Move over, guys!
A black president; a possible black governor; seems only logical to me.

Jim Morrison said that ‘whoever controls the media controls the mind!’ Yet today’s media has seemed to have shifted it’s interest from responsible investigative reporting to a more instant on-demand format of sound bytes and hybrid headlines.
From the advent of social media tools such as YouTube and Facebook to the reduction in senior staff and publications of print media, the lack of real journalism has ceased to exist. However who is truly to be blamed, the reporters’ who spew the untruth without proper fact checks or the consumers of such information who propagate this gossip as factual?

Despite all that is messed up, I am taken back to grandma’s favorite hymn, #325, in the good ol’ Baptist Hymnal: “We’ll understand it better bye and bye.” I’m taken back to the praying man’s visit every Monday at 4 pm and the long, long prayers he would utter. I think of drinking tea and eating Graham crackers with grandpop before grandma got home.
Friends, it is easy to focus on the negative. It is easy to throw the towel in on life. It is easy to concede, to give up, to quit. I don’t know about you, but I refuse to do so. I just can’t. I won’t. There is a certain sense of entitlement of expanded territory that I simply demand of myself and those around me, as ordained by God. I say, mediocrity is for the lame. This kid here expects the very best that God has to offer. Come hell or high water, I’ll just have to take the hits; but progress, I insist, is imminent.
