45th Anniversary of MLK's “I Have A Dream” Speech And The Impact Of 2008 Presidential Campaign Season To Be Celebrated At Statewide Gala
Harford County, Maryland-based non-profit The GrassRoots Steering Foundation, Inc. will host CAMPAIGN 2008 BLACK AND WHITE SUMMER GALA
(ABERDEEN – June 22, 2008) - The GrassRoots Steering Foundation and The 2008 VOTE THE POWER!™ CAMPAIGN, will host the political event of the season: The 2008 Campaign Black and White Summer Gala. This event will honor the 45th Anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “I Have A Dream” speech delivered on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C. on August 28, 1963.
Additionally, the commemoration of this legendary speech will be highlighted in conjunction with the historical impact of the chief Presidential campaigns during the 2008 Presidential Campaign Season. Guests from the Sen. John McCain Presidential campaign as well as the Sen. Barack Obama Campaign are expected to attend.
The keynote speaker for the evening is Carl Snowden, Director of The Office Of Civil Rights, Maryland Attorney General. Special guest is Charles Robinson, Regional Director of the Association of National Black Journalists and Correspondent with Maryland Public Television. The Master of Ceremonies for the evening is Doni Glover, political analyst for WBAL -TV Channel 11 and publisher of www.BMORENEWS.com.
The gala event will feature a delicious food buffet, beverages, lively entertainment, music and dancing! The affair will take place on Saturday, August 2, 2008 at the Aberdeen Holiday Inn Hotel, Main Ballroom at 1007 Beards Hill Road, Aberdeen, Maryland 21001.
