Here we go! Welcome to week one of the 2019 Legislative Session, which officially began on Wednesday, January 9th, as ordered in the state constitution. The first three days of session were filled with introducing legislation and the start of committee hearings. I was appointed to serve on the Finance committee and I am looking forward to learning about the new issues and challenges facing our state.

Introducing the Baltimore City State Senate Delegation:The Baltimore City State Senate Delegation consists of six state senators who are responsible for representing the interests, needs and concerns of the City of Baltimore in the Maryland General Assembly. I am proud and look forward to joining forces with Senator Bill Ferguson (46th District), Senator Jill P. Carter (41st District), Senator Cory McCray (45th district), Senator Shirley Nathan-Pulliam (44th District) and Senator Mary Washington (43rd District) in making sure that sufficient state funds and support are granted to our city.
During the 2019 Legislative Session I, as Chairman of the Baltimore City State Senate Delegation, will be hosting weekly meetings every Thursday with my fellow Baltimore City senators. In fact, we had a successful opening meeting this Thursday, January 10th, and discussed our priorities this session. In addition, Senator Cory McCray of the 45th District and I will be rotating every other Friday on the Larry Young Morning Radio Show to discuss our agenda and legislative priorities for this year so be sure to tune in!
